Typhoon Maria Makes Landfall In Dominica As 'To a great degree Dangerous' Category 5 Storm

Typhoon Maria "quickly" escalated and hammered into the Caribbean island of Dominica as an intense classification 5 sea tempest late Monday evening.

The typhoon made landfall around 9:15 p.m. nearby time, with most extreme supported breezes of 160 mph, as indicated by the National Hurricane Center.

In a progression of presents on Facebook, Dominica's Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said the breezes were "unfeeling" and he "not set out look" outside.
